Our bricks arrived...it's Vintage Brown

Roof Tiles = Barrumundi
Blue Gladwrap

Brick work is almost complete, dont like the colour, looks dull and old.
2 different colour grout....when we saw this, we panic, it freak us out.
But it's just timing different for the grout to set

Bad brick works on our Pilar...smudge everywhere and they leaves whole between the bricks...not happy
The brick layer mistaken that this will be rendered, so it was a rush brick job. Now they have to knock it down and do properly as this is not render.

Our entrance, so narrow and dark....dont like it at all....not a good welcoming feeling......

Due to the land delay, we could not start building in December, so UE charged us a surcharge for site start in February. I think this is so WRONG as it's out of our control. So please newbie, make sure you sign the contract that give you plenty of time incase the land is delay, make sure you negotiate with UE and have it in writing. I hope I'm the only one in this situation.
Problem doesn't end there.....So when I signed the building contract back in April 2009, I applied for 12K FHOG and 14K Boost, however due to the land delay, and I couldn't start building within 26 weeks, the SRO could only give me 12K. "....how do I breath without ....14K..." so I have to write to the SRO and asked for an extention. It's been 4 weeks and I'm still waiting for their reply. figer cross...otherwise you'll find my house on the market soon :(

"Do not upgrade, it's your first home, it's not gonna be perfect, you need to save, you have no money to spend.....do not upgrade....."
that was on my mind when I walked in UE colour hub
what is Jasper?
what the Barramundi - isn't that a fish?
Onyx.....what the ...absolutely have no idea what these colours were ...
but we manage to go through it easily
We manage to stick to our words and didn't do too much upgrade :)
We only upgrade our kitchen cabinets, our sink and our front door
Our colour selections below: (to come)
We hope our colour is ok and they all match with each other. We try to keep it neutral and dress it up with accessories in the future....
We have 3 days to think about our colours and make any changes, after 3 days there will be a $500 fee. I think this is rediculous as our house is not build till another few months.
so it was another 3 sleepless night for us....can't decide if our colour is OK....want to make changes....The Floor tiles are too dark, the wall colour is too bright....blah blah blah
So we speak to UE interior designer again....and she re-assure our colours is good
so in the end we didn't make any changes......
Zzzzzzzzzz.......we need sleep...

So, it was the Zern001 we looked at, but we end up with Zern003 (it's now Zern004 on UE website) thought we might need that extra room down the track :)
After a few sleepless night looking at the plans. We changed our plan slightly to our master bedroom/ensuite and our kitchen. Not sure if it was a good idea but at the time we thought it was the BEST idea ever :) (Plan to come)
UE have no problem for us to change the plan....but we need to pay 1K for them to re-draft.
Oh, there's another house on our street with the same facade, so we have to change ours slightly.... as this is not permitted by Peets.
Zern003 is display at Point Cook, we took a look at it and liking our home more and more. Yes it's just perfect for us....it's so us ...straigh forward, open, and KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
So at this stage we are so happy to sign the contract.....
Disadvantage - our salesman is based at Brimbank Garden and our home is display at Point Cook, so we could not do a walk through to Zern003 prior to signing the contract and the salesman is not familiar with the display home at Point Cook. This have caused many problem/misunderstanding down the track :(
So if you are a newbie like me.....who knows nothing about building.....make sure you make the salesman walk through the house and go through each item one by one.....

We went to Laverton Market cos we have nothing else to do...and have too much time to waste...We drove past Brimbank Garden, and decided to take a look at the display home....with no intention of building or buying....cos we love living under our parents roof :D dinner is always ready after work ...ahh what a life!!!!
Zern001 from Urbanedge is our first walkin....followed by the Ludo, Rouge...Porter Davies and then Metricon...by the end of it....we were drain and dizzy, but we managed to come back and talk to the salesman at UE cos we like Zern001.
Ok we need $750 to reserve the land...Opss...We have absolutely NO $$$....so called my sis and borrow her credit card :) and yes the land is reserved for us.
and that's how it all begins.
From then onwards, we start saving money
Get Bank approval and there we go.....
Signed our Land contract....and then start to play the "waiting" game :)
At this point....we still couldn't believe we purchased the land....or about to build, as it come to us to sudden and unexpected.
